My approach is to paint from different times and spaces, with different elements in the painting representing different feelings, develop and challenge myself by knowing where to encounter them. This series started four years ago. From the beginning of this series are just sketches of landscape and still-life without a figure in it, while searching and recording human gestures and emotions on their face I decided to draw a bear instead of painting a human figure. The motivation for painting a bear instead of a human figure is because recognizing the emotion on a human's face makes me feel a sense of lying, so I decided to paint an “eyeless” bear to show the unwillingness of seeing, through listening, reacting toward the world.
Painting eyeless bears as a human to alleviate my childhood, as a child encountering countless conditions that made me unable to speak, the bear illustrates the desire to be in a fairy tale, and to express the appreciation of things inside the fairy tale world compared to reality. I began by using specific colors and brushstrokes to present my feelings within different scenes. Overlapping each dab of brushstrokes in the bear creates a softness to it. I choose warm colors to better represent the sense of healing. I paint the bear in different scenes to show the environment around it and the role the bear play
